A few weeks ago, I was offered a deal worth millions. On paper, it made sense. The numbers worked. The opportunity was tempting.
But I walked away.
Why?
Because I don’t filter deals by numbers alone. I filter them through values.
For me, that means starting with faith. If it doesn’t align there, no amount of financial upside can justify it. Faith sets the tone for family, fitness, fun, and finally, finances. That order isn’t random ; it’s the sequence that keeps me from chasing the wrong things at the wrong time.
Most people look at opportunity through a financial lens first. And that’s where they get trapped ; deals that burn them out, partnerships that erode trust, businesses that scale but hollow out the life they were meant to serve.
When I say no, it’s not because the numbers are bad. It’s because I want the results to be good for the people and priorities that matter most.
That’s the filter I use to build businesses without losing balance.
